Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
In an effort to provide more high-impact practices across Grand Valley State University as well as address growing needs within our community and university, members of the newly created IT Innovation and Research group created a new pilot program that started in the fall 2022 semester called the Student Technology and Innovation Guild (STING). STING’s goal is a two-pronged approach: first, to address identified needs or opportunities at the university and solve them utilizing technology and innovative thinking. These could be pedagogical concerns, issues with the workflow of hiring, or opportunities around usage data. Second, to give students opportunities to create, learn, and grow utilizing project- based learning and new and emerging technologies. Our current project addresses needs around Occupational Therapy, patient movement, and addressing concerns using Virtual Reality.
