Supporting Course and Program Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging through Learning Analytics
The University of Wisconsin-Madison piloted a microgrant program to explore how data-empowered educational practices contribute to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Four action research projects were awarded to improve a teaching practice, course outcome, or a program improvement. Project teams received support with pedagogy, data analysis and governance, technology, and evaluation throughout the academic year. The microgrant model allows deep engagement and support with a small cohort that can collaborate and learn from each other, while building capacity and local experience with learning analytics and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. We’ll share our process, lessons learned, and updates about the program.
