Then and Now: How DEI Has Moved the Dial and What Else Needs to Be Done

Wednesday, October 11 | 3:00PM–3:45PM CT | Poster #610, Halls F1, F2, Level 3
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
In 2020, a panel of Asian American IT leaders shared various data points from 2017-19 on Asian/Asian American leadership roles in higher education, or the lack thereof. Where are we now? The presenters from this poster session will share updated figures in hope of generating additional discussions illustrating that while higher education has moved the dial slowly, there is still plenty of work ahead. The presenters will also share various viewpoints from immigrants to second-/third-generation Asian Americans to raise awareness about their different backgrounds and internal struggles that contribute to their leadership journeys. We will also share some information on how to create and support an environment that fosters growth for Asian/Asian American leaders.
