The change of the computer labs at Georgia Tech Library into mobile-ready study spaces is a transformational story of innovation and adaptation. Driven by the input of students and the insights gained from a 2022 EDUCAUSE article titled Moving to Mobile: Space as a Service in the Academic Library, the library's decision to replace its computer labs with docking stations has transformed the way students engage with technology while studying. Students can now leverage their personal laptops, complete with dual monitors and docking capabilities, to seamlessly integrate their individual study preferences with the library's resources. This exciting shift echoes the design principles of modern open offices in corporate environments, providing a dynamic and productive atmosphere that is at once flexible and intuitive.
