Data are undeniably as valuable as fiscal assets, but institutions don’t always have the data governance structures and processes in place that allow data to be managed as such. And as higher ed moves into a future full of new as well as continuing challenges, the importance of building innovative, durable data governance has never been more urgent. The 2023 EDUCAUSE Horizon Action Plan: Data Governance describes a vision for a future of effective data governance along with practical actions institutions can take to make that future a reality. In this session you will hear from action plan panelists about the main elements of the plan and start to develop your own action roadmaps for moving data governance forward at your institution.
