The education sector continues to be a prime target for cyber threats, with recent reports showing a 315% increase in encrypted attacks, an 80% increase in ransomware, a 576% increase in phishing attacks, and an average data breach cost of $3.86 million. Educational institutions are under pressure to quickly move to secure networks and data while also improving the user experience for students, hybrid employees, and third parties. In addition, data privacy compliance for GLBA, HIPAA, and CMMC 2.0 for research institutions adds an extra layer of complexity.
