In this 3-hour workshop, Karen Catlin covers key points from her books, Better Allies: Everyday Actions to Create Inclusive, Engaging Workplaces and The Better Allies Approach to Hiring.

  • Participants will learn steps they can take to:
  • Amplify and advocate for others in meetings
  • Use more inclusive language
  • Give more equitable and effective feedback
  • Create more inclusive hiring practices
  • Sponsor people from underrepresented groups

Participants will leave the workshop with an accountability plan for how they will become better allies for colleagues from underrepresented groups and help create a more inclusive workplace where everyone can do their best and thrive.

About Karen Catlin: After spending 25 years building software products and serving as a vice president of engineering at Adobe, Karen Catlin witnessed a sharp decline in the number of women working in tech. Frustrated but galvanized, she knew it was time to switch gears. Today, Karen is an acclaimed author and speaker on inclusive workplaces. She has spoken at hundreds of conferences and corporate events, delivered a TEDx talk, and even had a brief cameo on the TODAY show.
