This is a review of interpersonal conversations with higher education students from HBCUs, community colleges, and private and public four-year institutions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, distance learning practices, and the need to feel a sense of belonging in the online classroom. Discussions will address the immersion of remote learning in 2020-22, moving beyond the pandemic years, and how to best engage students both interpersonally and interactively in the online classroom.
