What to make of virtual reality (AR/VR) technologies and the so-called metaverse? How might AR/VR play roles in teaching, learning, and research practices? Although promising, AR/VR also raise crucial policy considerations. Examining key features of AR/VR, we consider technological trends and emerging issues while sharing insights into how the future might play out in our own setting, keeping an eye on institutional must-haves like accessibility, security, and privacy.
