CIO, CISO, Users…Who’s in the Hot Seat for Untangling the Compliance Web?

Wednesday, October 26 | 11:15AM–12:00PM MT | Meeting Room 503-504
Session Type: Industry Led
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session

Digital transformation in higher education is a marriage of infrastructure and cybersecurity, and the importance of supporting all requirements across the campus (student, faculty, facilities, staff, researchers, IoT, etc.) has become paramount. At the same time, data protection and compliance requirements have also gone from simple to complex, with increased mobility and reliance on hybrid cloud access compounding the multiple types of compliance that colloges and universities need to manage, (for example, NIST, HIPPA, CMMC, and SOC).  Who is in the hot seat to make this work? Do traditional silos mean that digital transformation is stifled? How do NETops and SECops work together? How are CIOs and CISOs facing this new alphabet soup? Helen Patton, Cisco Security BU CISO and former University CISO, will bring together leading CIO and CISO panelists to discuss how their institutions are facing this increasingly complex issue and who is accountable for making it work.
