Why I Am an Ally and an Advocate, and Why You Should Be One Too

Wednesday, October 26, 2022 | 8:00AM–8:45AM MT | Mile High Ballroom 2C3C, Ballroom Level
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session

During this talk, I will share aspects of my life and career journey that have shaped my thoughts, convictions, and actions supporting others so they could bring their fullest self to work. You will hear the good, the bad, and the ugly. If the mood hits me, you may even hear the shocking. The events and people that impacted my life will be discussed. You will hear why I continue to learn more about those whose backgrounds and experiences are different from mine. You will also hear the perspective of other advocates and allies. This talk will be one of those had around a dinner table with close friends to candidly discuss a topic. When you leave, I hope one thing I said will provoke a thought, provide inspiration, and/or offer you what you need at this point in your journey to be an ally and an advocate.

If you do plan on attending, and I so hope that you will, please feel free to submit a question at the link below before September 30 I can incorporate a response into my talk. Thank you! Submit your question here: https://forms.gle/KPBqM5Kg5Tensr2J9
