Cybersecurity, AI and Computing Learning Pathways: Catalyzing Collaboration and Career Opportunities

The increased integration of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity and other emerging technologies, necessitates a transformative shift in identifying learning pathways to bridge the skills gap between traditional and modern, automated technological landscapes. Various communities have organized engagement initiates to enable efficient integration of (HPC), AI and cybersecurity ecosystems. However, there still exists a need for more regional and national collaborative and structured learning/training resources and activities for upskilling/reskilling the workforce to mitigate gaps. This presentation highlights the insights gained by the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) Pilot Sustainable Research Pathways (SRP) program (designed to connect researchers and project leaders with students and faculty across the U.S) and ACM SigHPC education chapter coordinated HPC training and education workshops to foster collaboration among the practitioners from traditional and emerging fields to explore educational needs in HPC, AI and cybersecurity. Furthermore, through discussions and case studies centered on learning pathways, we aim to provide insight into research, training and career opportunities, identify opportunities to support regional and national institutions, and broaden access to computing resources through mentorship and collaboration.
