Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
The asynchronous, digital education landscape is transitioning from passive content delivery to dynamic learning architectures. To bridge the gap between knowledge acquisition, learning by doing, and the application of key skills and behaviors, this presentation explores two key technologies that, in conjunction, create impactful training with demonstrable results. These technologies are adaptive learner journeys and immersive simulations. One-size-fits-all training or teaching is inefficient, alienating experts while overwhelming novices. Adaptivity solves this by utilizing algorithmic approaches to analyze performance in real time. Instead of a linear path, systems curate bespoke experiences, scaffolding difficulty based on performance data. Every minute spent contributes to growth, keeping cognitive engagement at its peak. Providing personalization at scale, intelligent pathing respects existing knowledge while increasing learning efficiency. If adaptive journeys provide the maps, simulations are the terrain. Training is truly impactful when it is experiential. High-fidelity branching scenarios provide a risk-free environment to fail and iterate. This builds the emotional resonance and "muscle memory" that passive modalities cannot replicate. Students don’t just recall facts; they develop the confidence to apply what they know under pressure. The synergy of data-driven personalization and realistic practice transforms learning into validated competency-based mastery.
