IT, Information Security, and Privacy are critical partners in our institutions’ emergency planning and response activities. Emergencies are inevitable and it is imperative that we help our institutions be as prepared as possible for the wide variety of incidents that can and will occur. These incidents range from natural disasters and severe weather, infrastructure failures, violence, and more. Each of these incidents have specific responses that we can prepare our institutions to implement.
Good plans address identified risks, and ensure coordinated, effective, and timely response to incidents that threaten life, property, the environment, or the continuity of the University’s mission. Join this informal discussion about the different emergency types, and how technology leaders can be strategic partners in emergency planning.
