Phishing continues to evolve faster than traditional defenses can adapt, especially in distributed environments like higher education. Institutions need approaches that go beyond blocking messages and instead focus on rapid detection, analysis, and response. This poster describes a defense model that treats phishing as an ongoing operational problem rather than a filtering challenge. It brings together user reporting, message triage, clustering of related attacks, and coordinated response. It also examines how newer techniques, including AI-assisted analysis, can improve efficiency while introducing new considerations around security and privacy. The focus is on practical design choices that help institutions respond more effectively today while remaining adaptable as both attacker methods and defensive technologies continue to change.
