When an accreditation recommendation called for Utah Valley University to develop a widely available, reliable, transparent system of data, the institution used the moment as more than a compliance response. UVU treated the recommendation as a catalyst for building a broader institutional data strategy centered on trusted access, clearer governance, stronger data literacy, and more coordinated decision support.
This poster shares UVU’s journey from recommendation to implementation, including the development of myData Hub, the use of divisional listening tours to understand leadership data needs, the role of the Data Governance Council in shaping access and priorities, and the ongoing work to improve data quality, transparency, training, and institutional trust. The poster highlights how accreditation pressure helped accelerate a more sustainable approach to institutional data, including curated dashboards, clearer data roles, governed access, and a framework for moving from fragmented reporting to a shared data ecosystem.
