From Data to Action: Aligning Systems, Workflows, and Adoption for Student Engagement Intelligence

As institutions expand their portfolios of student-facing platforms, they generate increasing volumes of engagement data—but often lack a shared framework to interpret and act on it. Engagement signals remain fragmented across systems, and inconsistent workflows limit the ability to aggregate data, identify meaningful patterns, and respond in a timely way. This session explores how to move from fragmented data to coordinated action by addressing three foundational challenges: establishing a common data scheme across platforms, redesigning student-facing workflows to generate meaningful engagement data, and driving adoption of these processes at scale across faculty and staff. We will present a practical approach to aligning systems, processes, and people to support a student engagement intelligence and alerting model. Participants will gain actionable strategies for aggregating engagement signals, defining indicators of student behavior, and designing alerting approaches that enable timely, coordinated intervention.
