From Launch to Momentum: Scaling a Systemwide AI Collaboration

Friday, October 02, 2026 | 9:15AM–10:00AM MT
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation
One year after launching a multicampus AI collaboration across the Universities of Wisconsin, institutional leaders can now speak not only to vision, but also to progress. What began in March 2025 as a partnership to share ideas, talent, and emerging practices has evolved into a growing model for coordinated AI literacy, communities of practice, policy alignment, vendor engagement, shared use-case development, and exploration of common technology foundations. This session highlights what the collaboration has made possible, where it has accelerated institutional progress, and what comes next as participating campuses shape a shared roadmap for AI capabilities, staffing, governance, and sandbox environments. Attendees will leave with practical strategies for launching or strengthening similar partnerships in their own systems, regions, or consortia.
