From Risk to Resilience: Securing the AI-Enabled University
AI adoption across higher education is accelerating faster than institutional readiness, taxing cybersecurity teams who are already focused on legacy risk, security, and compliance. As faculty, staff, and students rapidly deploy AI tools, institutions are expanding their attack surface and introducing new risks into already fragmented environments. In this session, we will draw on emerging practices and real-world examples to highlight how AI is expanding and accelerating cyber risk, where traditional security models are breaking down, and how institutions can apply AI to strengthen cybersecurity and risk management in the face of these emerging threats. Participants will gain practical strategies to bring structure to AI adoption while leveraging AI itself to enhance detection, response, and institutional resilience. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how to manage AI-driven risk in complex environments and align cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance efforts with the pace of institutional innovation.
