Good identity and access management (IAM) is a critically important practice for all IT organizations. Making sure that the right people have the right access to resources at the right time, and terminating that access appropriately, should be a core part of IT operations. Effective IAM, however, takes personnel and technical resources. Small schools face a compounding challenge: years of accumulated identity debt that includes manual processes, orphaned accounts, and deferred maintenance that must be addressed alongside building new capabilities. Accomplishing goals at a small and/or resource-constrained institution poses unique challenges. Come learn how four institutions have tackled these issues and come out on top.
