Designed for technology-focused educators, this workshop explores how media innovations—from radio and film to today’s short-form video platforms—shape identity, voice, and digital storytelling. By linking media history to contemporary tools students already use, the session highlights how evolving technologies influence authorship, participation, and the circulation of ideas. Participants will engage with practical strategies for integrating media production into their courses, including assignments using podcasts, video essays, and short-form content. Emphasis is placed on leveraging accessible technologies to support multimodal composition and key media literacy. Attendees will leave with adaptable, tech-forward assignments and approaches to scaffolding and assessment that foster creativity, engagement, and digital fluency in today’s media-rich learning environments.
