While governance sets the institutional stage for NSPM-33, the operational reality happens in the lab and the data center. Complementing the strategic discussion on institutional readiness, this interactive meetup provides a dedicated space to discuss the messy reality of implementation. We will explore how to move from "demanding" compliance to "supplying" security as a service that is largely invisible to researchers. Join your peers to share strategies for inventorying dual-purpose systems, mapping existing "building blocks," and designing support models that accelerate research, rather than act as administrative taxes.
Note: This session builds on the strategies introduced in our presentation, Beyond Regulated Data: Preparing for NSPM-33 Research Cybersecurity Requirements (Thursday, Oct. 1, 1:00 - 1:45 p.m.), through deeper discussion and hands-on activities, while remaining accessible to participants who are unable to attend the earlier session.
