Generative AI (GenAI) represents a significant evolution in artificial intelligence, enabling systems to generate human-like text, code, and multimedia content. For higher education, this technology offers transformative opportunities across teaching, research, and administration, while simultaneously introducing complex governance, security, and ethical challenges. Driven by advances in data availability, computational power, and deep learning architectures, GenAI systems are increasingly embedded in academic workflows.
