Standardizing Project Reporting to Improve Visibility and Strategic Alignment in Higher Education IT

Higher education IT organizations frequently manage numerous concurrent projects with varied reporting practices, making it difficult for leadership to assess progress, evaluate risks, and ensure alignment with strategic institutional goals. This poster session presents an initiative to standardize project reporting across IT initiatives, emphasizing management tracking effectiveness, enabling leadership, and providing a consolidated view for strategic alignment. By implementing consistent reporting formats, measurable objectives, and clearly defined accountability, the initiative allowed leadership to evaluate project performance and alignment more effectively with institutional priorities. Existing tools such as SharePoint were leveraged to sort and filter project data. The focus, however, remains on reporting structure, clarity, and leadership utility and not on any specific software.
