Taking Charge of Change® (Separate registration is required.)

Tuesday, September 29, 2026 | 8:00AM–11:30AM MT
Session Type: Additional Fee Program
Delivery Format: Preconference Programming

Change is no longer episodic—it’s continuous, personal, and demanding. In this fast-paced, interactive three-hour conference experience, Prosci’s Taking Charge of Change® equips attendees with practical tools and insights to successfully navigate change at work and beyond. Grounded in Prosci’s 25+ years of global change management research, this session moves beyond theory to focus on the individual side of change: what people experience, why resistance happens, and how individuals can take control of their own change journey.

Participants will explore the human reactions to change using Prosci’s renowned ADKAR® Model and learn actionable techniques to build resilience, reduce disruption, and accelerate adoption. Through real world examples, reflection exercises, and peer discussion, attendees will gain clarity on their role in change—whether they are leaders, project contributors, or frontline professionals.
Designed for today’s dynamic conference audience, this condensed format delivers high impact learning without sacrificing depth. Attendees will leave with a common language for change, a practical framework they can immediately apply, and greater confidence in their ability to adapt and perform—even in uncertain environments.

Ideal for professionals facing constant transformation, this session empowers individuals not just to survive change—but to take charge of it.

Outcomes of this workshop:

  • Recognize and normalize personal responses to change.Understand the typical emotional and behavioral reactions individuals experience during change and why resistance is a natural, predictable response.
  • Apply the ADKAR® Model to real change situations. Use Prosci’s ADKAR industry-leading model to assess where change efforts succeed or stall at the individual level and identify practical actions to move change forward.
  • Increase personal resilience and effectiveness during change. Build skills to adapt more quickly, reduce stress, and maintain performance by taking ownership of one’s role in change—professionally and personally.

Note: Participants who successfully complete this preconference workshop will be eligible to receive an EDUCAUSE microcredential. To earn this digital badge, you must complete a brief workshop evaluation and share two key learning outcomes from your experience. All registered participants will receive an email on October 5 with instructions for completing these steps. Completion of both is required. To learn how to accept and make the most of your microcredential, visit the EDUCAUSE Microcredential website.
