Institutions now prioritize proactive cybersecurity to cut risks and costs linked to potential breaches. Safeguarding digital assets and cloud-based workspaces requires a comprehensive, actionable approach. Even teams with staffing challenges can improve protection with effective strategies. This session offers insights into establishing a robust security routine through real-world scenarios, hands-on exercises, and case studies. Attendees will learn to configure and optimize security settings in cloud-based workspaces, drawing from Lewis & Clark College's experiences, especially insights from Meredith Goddard, Director of Enterprise Applications. We'll highlight Lewis & Clark's use of Google Workspace for Education, demonstrating how they utilized Google's audit capabilities to prioritize settings changes and promote collaborative security efforts. Additionally, we'll discuss Lewis & Clark's response to a major cyberattack in spring 2023, leveraging Google's built-in tools for mitigation. Attendees will deepen their understanding of Google Workspace for Education's security landscape through practical examples, empowering them to strengthen their digital defenses effectively against cyberthreats.
