Choose Your Own Adventure: Navigating Digital Learning Leadership

Wednesday, October 23, 2024 | 10:15AM–11:00AM CT | Meeting Room 207, Second Level
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
Digital learning leaders (DLLs) are responsible for an institution’s academic technology portfolio, supporting the technologies that enable teaching and learning and ultimately supporting student success. DLLs come in to these positions from many different student support and learning-centric backgrounds such as academic advisors, faculty members, instructional designers and technologists. At the highest level, often acting as the Chief Learning Officers (COLOs) for their institutions, DLLs help the institution develop a clear vision for how digital technologies can support both instructors and students. In this panel discussion, experienced DLLs will discuss their professional pathways, their thoughts on emerging technologies, and how to develop and sustain the leadership skills needed to be successful digital learning leaders.
