How IT Leaders Can Accelerate Change and Improve Campus Outcomes

Wednesday, October 23 | 1:45PM–2:30PM CT | Meeting Room 205, Second Level
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
IT leaders are more and more frequently finding themselves at the epicenter of important institutional initiatives—digital transformation, remote work, cybersecurity, data integrity, technology adoption, and more. While previously seen as a support center, their front-line work in pivoting staff, faculty, and students from in-person to online learning and remote work during the pandemic has landed IT departments greater influence regarding campus strategic and operational decisions. But what is the framework that IT leaders should follow when taking on such a large role in change management? What are the common pitfalls and how can they avoid them while still promoting student success? During this session, speakers from Southeastern University and Newberry College will discuss how they approach and drive change management on their campuses. They will outline best practices on aligning goals and strategies across the institution and the specific steps their IT teams have taken to support campus-wide transformation. A checklist for CIOs will be distributed to attendees to help them plot their own journeys.
