Presentation/Panel Session
Recognizing the vital role of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in shaping the future, higher education institutions (HEIs) are grappling with how to integrate this rapidly evolving and costly technology while mitigating risks. Higher education leaders are being asked to navigate this ambiguity and accelerate their institution’s GenAI journey while establishing scalable strategies for adoption and value extraction. Utilizing established structures such as the AI Readiness and Management Framework, attendees will gain insights on: 1) Establishing an informed GenAI direction with a focus on use-case prioritization, governance, and people; 2) Identifying vital elements for building core capabilities and delivering AI value through integration of data, technology, and talent; 3) Evaluating strategies for holistic management of the broader AI ecosystem, considering AI delivery and operations, and AI sourcing management. In the context of GenAI and broader AI strategy, HEIs are keenly aware of the risks and ethical considerations associated with these technologies. We reinforce the importance of adopting a comprehensive GenAI strategy that is underpinned by a risk management framework, such as Trustworthy AI™, which is designed to facilitate the development of safer AI applications while realizing value and effectively managing risk. Attendees will gain a perspective on how to translate their vision into an achievable roadmap for their HEI’s GenAI strategy.
